Experiences

Modern Mayr Medicine is based on six principles to support your gut health - cleansing, supplementing, self-discovery, exercise, rest and education. Come to rest and rejuvenate yourself, and/or get help with specifics such as sleep, stress management, menopause, building immunity and burnout prevention.

Your individual programme is devised after an in-depth health consultation with a medical doctor. Included is daily Kneipp therapy, which involves dipping your feet in hot water, then a shorter spell of cold to stimulate circulation, plus warm abdominal wraps and liver compresses.

There’s a huge range of therapeutic treatments on offer, as well as holistic beauty treatments, body firming treatments and regenerative and anti-ageing facials.

Medical treatments include neural therapy and intravenous drip therapy. There are food intolerance tests and diagnostic tests for lung cancer and Alzheimer's Disease, and a mobile sleep laboratory.

Movement is key, with around 13 activities on offer daily, including morning and evening walks, Nordic walking and hiking, and workout classes such as aqua fit and jogging, as well as gymnastics, stretching, cardio training, yoga and Pilates.

Spaces

An excellent 15-metre swimming pool is surrounded by comfortable loungers facing out to the garden. Next to that, there’s a ‘textile’ sauna to use wrapped in a towel or in a swimsuit, which opens into a larger area with other types of sauna, as well as steam baths, a plunge pool and relaxation areas.

Treatments are carried out in the pristine, serene and bright medical department, set over two floors, while classes take place in the airy basement studio.

Gym-goers enjoy panoramic mountain views from the third floor and a good range of new equipment. A special kybun® treadmill allows for low-impact training.

There are relaxing seating areas outdoors, while inside you can kick back in the tea bar, which has a grand piano, a small library and a pool table.

Fifty-one rooms and suites range from comfortable single rooms to the glamorous Park Suite. All are bright with large windows, air conditioning and a balcony overlooking the Tyrolean Alps. Some deluxe single rooms and suites have infrared saunas. En-suite bathrooms include bath and/or shower and bidet.

Sustenance

Food is designed to rest the digestive system, and focuses on alkaline meals using organic, regional and seasonal ingredients and based on your constitution.

Breakfasts tend to be different types of porridge or bread, with cheese, salmon, vegetable spread or egg, plus cups of milk, yoghurt or lactose-free alternatives.

Lunch is the main meal - choose between a vegetarian or fish and meat menu, and enjoy dishes such as carpaccio of celery, or steamed fish with delicious seasonal vegetables.

Supper is soup with crispbreads and a choice of protein such as cheese, different spreads, smoked salmon, eggs or hot potato with curd cheese.

Between 10am and 1pm there is a vegetable broth on offer at the tea bar. There are drinking fountains dotted about, and plenty of filtered water and herbal teas on offer. There is no caffeine or alcohol.
