our Reviewer anna pasternak says of her gut health retreat:

‘RAKxa is special. It’s expensive and exclusive but it brims with soul. The intent behind this resort is tangible. To bring you back to the best version of yourself’

our Reviewer daisy pasternak says of her mobilisation retreat:

‘The ideology at RAKxa that ‘health is wealth’ supports the backbone of everything they do here to empower and heal the physical, emotional, spiritual and mental self’

Queen of Retreats says:

‘You’ll get every ounce of care you need here. Even the stones in the private green area are carefully chosen so you can walk barefoot. We especially love the daily appointment at the tea house, where experienced tea sommeliers create wellness brews curated for what your doctor has said your body needs. Enjoy butterfly pea for energy, or turmeric infusion for digestion, at a tea ceremony’

Experiences

RAKxa offers nine wellness programmes, each focusing on an aspect of your health, including de-stress, gut health, weight management and mobilisation. Personalised programmes can also be arranged.

Consultations with a western medical team, Thai doctors and ayurvedic doctors determine what you need. Impressive diagnostics include hormone and blood tests, DNA analysis, body composition assessments and posture evaluations.

Programmes feature well-thought-out treatments, exercises, lifestyle modifications and nutrition plans based on your diagnostic results.

Your therapy schedule is likely to draw on ayurveda, traditional Chinese medicine, Thai medicine, energy healing, the therapeutic spa and hydrotherapy, with treatments ranging from intuitive acupuncture to expertly performed Chi Nei Tsang. You may have physiotherapy to improve your posture, or oxygen therapy to alleviate sleep issues caused by stress.

The gym offers a full schedule of daily classes, as well as private suspension lessons with physiotherapists, Thai boxing and private tai chi.

Spaces

The holistic heart of the retreat, RAKxa JAI is a sleek building with gorgeous hydrotherapy pools, an infrared sauna, herbal steam room and rain showers looking over the lake. Reset in the relaxation room, which has comfy mattress toppers and a massive window revealing nature all around you.

RAKxa CHA, the tea house, is a lovely place to sit and read or just relax, or you might head to the outdoor terrace at UNAM restaurant. There’s a Reading Room for work and presentations.

Sustenance

You’ll eat in UNAM, a light and airy room with beautiful woven chairs and traditional Thai decor. All herbs and edible flowers are grown in the retreat’s organic farm.

Meals start with home-made kiwi or dragon fruit kombucha and are built around easy-to-digest anti-inflammatory foods. Menus can be curated for weight loss and other health goals.

Breakfasts are sumptuous affairs, featuring dishes like dried boiled rice with chicken, salmon poke, truffle egg muffins and tomato egg drop soup, along with sauteed mushroom and spinach. Sweet options include acai bowl, vegan pancakes and chocolate-soaked oats.

Light meals include warm baked pumpkin salad with chicken breast or tiger prawns, broccoli and zucchini soup, or tom yum soup with prawn or mushroom.

Rare, ancient brews and modern blends of tea, with names like Siam sweet eyes and Mind Seoul, are served in RAKxa CHA. Decaffeinated coffee is offered. The retreat doesn’t serve alcohol and it discourages guests from drinking caffeine.
