Ralia Retreats

CANADA AND Costa Rica

Bespoke business and family retreats to deepen connection and joy

These refined, private family and business retreats take place on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica and in the Laurentians of Quebec in Canada, an hour’s drive north of Montreal. They offer families and corporate organisers a beautiful space where they can realise their wishes. As participants relax, come together and bond, activities reflect the group’s mission and include cultural workshops, uniting ceremonies and wellness immersions. There is also an option for a two-centre retreat.

our Reviewer eden carpenter says of her costa rica retreat:

‘I wanted a space that inspired awe, that amplified our gratitude, and transformed work acquaintances into soul sisterhood through once-in-a-lifetime moments’

Queen of Retreats says:

‘Ralia Retreats are all about you – what you need, want and like. Every itinerary is planned specifically for you and your family or team. The work begins before your stay, with a series of coaching sessions to get clarity on your needs, wishes and goals for your team. After that every single detail is executed perfectly’

Retreats take place at venues on or very close to the Pacific Ocean. A favourite venue, The Palms, has four villas that sleep up to 15 people in airy, spacious bedrooms. All rooms have their own balcony and bathroom. Enjoy the two pools, have a massage in the outdoor massage tent and use the small, on-site gym. Meals are almost entirely organic.

On both Family and Business Retreats, the sea is a recurring theme. You’ll learn to relax, move, eat, and breathe with the waves, and fall asleep to their sound. Beaches are generally quiet, and very walkable, perfect for a sunrise or sunset stroll. Monkeys abound and you may even spot a turtle.

Your programme will be designed to match your aims and goals, starting with online coaching sessions before your stay and a family or team alignment ceremony on arrival. On retreat you’ll experience ‘activations’ which are daily guided activities. These include yoga, sound baths, meditations (one is on the ocean) and a cacao ceremony. Cultural trips include the indigenous Chorotega pottery makers or join professional chef Dania Fallas and visit a local organic farm.

You’ll stay at Chalet Renne, a four-bedroomed forest and lakeside sanctuary, backed by the bold Montagne Noire Mountain, in an area known for its stunning autumnal landscapes and velvety snow scenes in winter. Bedrooms are cosy and there are several main rooms where you can relax. Enjoy seasonal, organic food specially prepared for you, or you can cook your own meals.

Expect plenty of time in nature, with sauna and lake dips, hot tubs under the stars, swimming, kayaking and paddle-boarding in summer, and snowboarding and sledding in winter. Take a woodland hike from your doorstep, or ski at nearby mountains, Garceau and La Reserve.

Days may be themed, starting with a Grounding Day, which includes an activation ceremony to connect you with the land and each other, and ending with a Clarity Day and closing ceremony. In between, you’ll have meditation, visualisations, yoga and cooking as a group.
