Retreats at a charming manor house to help you find and fuel what matters most

Based at a manor house on an ancient Indian trail surrounded by black walnut forests in the Hudson Valley, Elevation Barn New York retreats, for individuals, families and corporates, create their own alchemy. Led by CEO and founder Will Travis, a branding expert who has propelled some big-name brands to success, and his world-class team, specifically curated groups learn to smash through limiting boundaries and take part in carefully orchestrated workshops, wild swimming, ice plunges and walks. You’ll leave with your own mission statement.

our Reviewer Juliet Kinsman says:

‘Barn time strengthens muscles to help us make wiser choices — at home, in our careers, through our relationships, in every sense — you could say it’s like ‘purpose bulking’. After only three nights away, I left feeling power-lifted with an easy-to-follow future-manifesting regime’

Queen of Retreats says:

‘High-calibre guidance means you'll develop defogged decision-making and a sharpened ability to prioritise. Being open and sharing with strangers (who soon become friends for life) could leave you feeling raw and vulnerable. You’ll get membership of an online ‘elevated’ community for a year. Look out for wildlife on the estate, where you’re in the heart of upstate New York nature’

Experiences

As well as group retreats, Will and his team offer bespoke, private retreats for groups, corporates and families. Key areas include Celebration, Exploration, Trust and Support and sessions cover Super You, The Real You and Action-Mapping.

You begin the day with mindfulness walks in nature and yoga and breathwork sessions for clarity and calm. Between sessions, expect team walks to get some movement and fresh air. You might also enjoy a fireside ceremony in the evening under the stars.

The stream-fed swimming lake provides a natural therapy. The waters are used for swimming, cold plunge swimming, bathing and skating in winter. In winter, ice plunges are popular and increase your dopamine levels for the day.

Spaces

The manor is on the Blue Hills Estate, ten minutes from the picturesque town of Millbrook. The rolling grounds include sun-kissed seating areas overlooking the lake or a cushioned banquette by the firepit. The tree-hugged lake is swimmable for much of the year.

The house has a homely vibe. All seven bedrooms are charming sanctuaries and six have en-suites. They all have a fabulous mix of old-fashioned charm infused with Indonesian furniture and artifacts.

The main light-flooded living room includes a billiard table area and grand piano and sinks into a cosy lounge area with 20 ft modular sofa. An open-plan space flows into the kitchen. There’s also a characterful book-lined library with some cosy private corners.

Sustenance

Dinner is served in the central part of the house on a long teak Indonesian dining table – it is in an open-plan dining area with high ceilings.

Every restaurant-quality meal is prepared by an acclaimed chef and served family style. Enjoy deconstructed eggs Benedict or eggs Florentine and fresh fruit for breakfast, feast on the freshest grilled fish or flavoursome plant-based proteins and exciting organic salads for lunch and enjoy ambitious yet low-key suppers.

You can help yourself to coffee, tea, cold drinks and snacks throughout the day. If you fancy an aperitif or glass or two of wine, a range of drinks is on offer.
