Bliss Body Journeys
Gianyar, Bali
Spiritual renewal with yoga, meditation and holistic dining in a tropical jungle setting
Bliss Body Journeys are led by Vlada de Sousa, a highly experienced spiritual guide, energy healer and wellness counsellor, who combines psychology, non-dual tantra, somatic practices and energy healing in her work to help you transform. Come alone or with a friend to stay in a private Balinese villa near Ubud, surrounded by greenery, with rice paddies and vibrant jungle in every direction, and let her work, nature and a top-notch plant-based menu relax and heal you.
our Reviewer Zoe Ross says:
‘When Bliss Body Journeys proposes a week of detox, the word for once is not a euphemism for weight loss. It would have been easier, and frankly what I had wanted, to throw myself into bracing vinyasa flow and meagre diet. But the transformation being encouraged here operates on a different level’
Queen of Retreats says:
‘Vlada's warm, personalised approach provides support and encouragement before, during and after your retreat, so you feel a lasting impact. She encourages introspection, journaling, and contemplation of your connection to the universe. You’ll leave with a firm understanding of the benefits of reviving your energy and soul on every level’
Experiences
Bespoke retreats are curated to give you exactly what you are looking for – be it purpose and clarity, healing and stress recovery, adopting healthy eating habits, or a higher connection with yourself. Expect meditation, yoga, breathwork, energy healing and a plant-based delicious banquet.
The signature Soul Revival group retreat, that runs on set dates, is a spiritual journey to help you reconnect with yourself and call back your power. It combines yoga, meditation, breathwork and a day of silence with organic spa rituals, a five-star holistic menu and personalised guidance from Vlada.
Daily yoga classes blend hatha, yin, and embodiment practices, guided meditation and breathwork, focusing on stillness and tension release. Rebirthing breathwork taps into unconscious stories and unprocessed experiences to release suppressed emotions, leading to clarity and wholeness.
Each guest enjoys a 90-minute spa ritual in their room. Additional facial and full body treatments are available, and Vlada also offers energy readings and healing sessions.
You can make a pilgrimage to a sacred Balinese water temple for rituals, prayers and immersion in purifying holy water.
Spaces
The villa is traditionally inspired with a contemporary flavour. Clean architectural lines are countered by antique statues and Indonesian artefacts, and walls are painted in neutral whites, browns and beiges.
The central building is contoured by a koi pond and all areas are linked by curving pathways. Enjoy two infinity pools and an open-air yoga shala with sweeping jungle views.
Eat at the outdoor dining table overlooking the jungle. Curl up with a book in the library, a cool and cosy space with corner sofas.
There are four deluxe bedroom suites with king beds (or twin, if required), crisp bedlinen, plump pillows and additional seating areas with reclining chairs or a writing desk.
Stylish en-suite bathrooms have showers, and all but one have a majestic freestanding bathtub. A smaller standard room at the centre of the property has a spacious private bathroom.
Sustenance
Seasonal farm-to-table ingredients are sourced mostly from organic suppliers in northern Bali. Meals are strictly raw and vegan, blended with the principles of ayurveda and macrobiotics for a gentle detox.
After morning yoga, you’ll be served a fresh coconut with a bamboo straw. Breakfast consists of platters of fresh mango, dragon fruit and papaya with a cold-pressed green juice, followed by chia porridge, burrito rolls and a farmer’s bowl of vegetables with green pesto.
For supper, starters might include kale salad with tahini dressing, homemade sauerkraut and kimchi, and the wholesome Earth Element Bowl, with vegan parmesan and coconut slices. Choose avocado-mint soup or strawberry-tomato gazpacho followed by jackfruit tacos, zucchini pasta and sushi rolls.
Coconut almond cake, mango cheesecake, sunflower Turkish delights with orange, and raw homemade chocolate make for an irresistible dessert selection.
Ginger and herbal teas and coconut water are available all day, alongside fruit. There is a strict no alcohol and no caffeine policy.
